Live alongside glorious nature in a state-of-the-art, newly remodeled ultra-modern three-bedroom 1.5 bath residence, inspired by Japanese minimalist sensibilities, and designed to showcase stunning unobstructed Mount Tamalpais views. Perched atop the sunniest hillside in Mill Valley, this jewel box of home—is the result of three years of meticulous high-end design, intended to create the finest modern living experience imaginable.

Architect Michael Murray, Landscape Architect Jim Bradanini, and Interior Designer Meredith Rebolledo were tasked with creating a modern slate of materials perfectly attuned with the surrounding landscape. The resulting home is a one-of-a-kind work of art, featuring dramatic dark Japanese-style Shou Sugi Ban wood on the exterior that shifts to a minimalist palette of pale oaks and warm marbles on the interior.

Intentionally designed with minimal lines and colors to draw attention to the exterior views, the residence was constructed with the highest standards and materials available in a process that included scrutinizing every detail, from the bespoke cabinetry pulls to the seams between pocket door panels. The finished product is a museum-worthy split-level living space, featuring ultra-modern built-ins, spectacular metal-clad Loewen windows with pull-down retractable screens, thoughtfully placed skylights, incredible view living room with cozy fireplace, Italian marble bathroom with soaking tub, and a separate minimalist-design Zen studio.

Enter the home through a striking cantilevered Corten steel-framed entranceway flanked by discrete Phoenix Day wall sconces curated to complement the Shou Sugi Ban wood. Step through an oversized solid oak front door into a bright open and airy living space opposite an artisan-crafted cedar entrance wall.

To the right find a modern, sparse dining room with peaked open ceilings offering custom lighting overhead and wide plank oak flooring below. Along the far end of the room, a wall-length oak buffet is custom-crafted with Dowsing and Reynolds hardware for sophisticated and minimalist styling.

To the left of the front door is a chic brand new, modern, and open kitchen, offering a full suite of luxury appliances, including 6-burner Wolf range, Bosch dishwasher, stainless Sub-Zero refrigerator with internal dispenser. With peaked ceilings and recessed lighting, the kitchen includes Italian tile flooring and a modern pantry and utility closet smartly designed with appliance hookups.

A gorgeous open beam ceiling living room is designed to emphasize stunning drop-dead unobstructed views of Mount Tamalpais through enormous picture window. The room is accented at the far end by a stylish, warmth-providing gas fireplace, featuring Basaltina slate slab surround. A pair of built-in bookcases and cabinets on either end of the fireplace.

Adjacent the living room, find a well-appointed primary bedroom affording spectacular Mount Tam backdrop among a minimalist all-white design to emphasize the natural setting. The bedroom includes individual heat controls, and a fully outfitted state-of-the-art closet system, with ceiling-hung doors designed for modern efficiency.

Across from the bedroom find a luxurious bathroom designed with every modern convenience to soothe the senses, including large skylight overhead and radiant heat flooring. With marble finishes, Sigma faucets over double sink vanity, the bathroom includes a glass-enclosed shower with rainwater showerhead, and a separate sumptuous deep soaking tub, underneath a gorgeous, tiled niche, outfitted with lighting to create the perfect bathing glow.

Wander across the redwood decking to a separate gorgeous modern studio, outfitted with beech wood on the exterior, as well as decorative cantilevered Corten steel at the entrance. The studio is complete with recessed lighting, wide plank oak flooring, and is designed to accommodate future water and heating hookups.
